How To Spot A Catfish On Tinder

It’s no secret that dating apps have become a breeding ground for scammers, bots, catfishes, and gay dudes who want to see a photo of your junk. This guide will show you how to avoid these catfishes and fake accounts so you don’t waste your time. Here are the 5 red flags you need to watch out for

Red Flag 1: OnlyFans & CashApp Links In Bio

This one should be common sense. If a girl links her CashApp in her bio, then she’s just on tinder to scam simps for money (and sadly, it works). The same thing goes if she links her OnlyFans. However, if she has a link to her Instagram, then a bit more nuance is required. If she has other stuff in her bio, and then links her IG at the end, then it’s probably fine. At the very least, start up a convo and if she tries to get you to her IG in the first few messages, you can always un-match. If a girl has just her IG link in her bio, then I probably wouldn’t bother matching.

.

Lets take a look at both of these Tinder profiles. The first girl has all the red flags. Not only is her whole bio just her IG handle, but also the name of the handle suggests a sugar baby or something similar. Thus, you should swipe left.

The second girl actually has a bit of a bio and then links her IG, which means she’s most likely a real person, so you should match and take it from there.

Red Flag 2: She Gives You A Wierd Link

If a girl gives you some random link and says “lets keep chatting on there,” it’s 100% a scam. If you’re getting off the app, then it should be some common messaging app (like WhatsApp) or text. If the link is to something that requires you to make an account and “verify your identity” then un-match.

Red Flag 3: It Feels Like You’re Talking To A Robot

If the “girl” seems like she’s not engaging in what you’re saying, and writing like a bot, then she is probably not real. In situations like this, to double check, you could just ask her a random question like “what if your favorite color?” If she answers with anything but the color, then you know for sure. Below is a perfect example of a bot just running through a script which becomes very obvious.

Red Flag 4: Asks For Your Dick Pic

Real girls will rarely ever ask for a photo of your junk. The only exception might be if you guys are sexting, but even then, it’s not common. If something feels off to you then just ask for a selfie or to FaceTime.

There are two types of people who will try to get dick pics from you. First is a gay dude pretending to be a girl. They will typically give themselves away by saying things that only a gay guy would want to know. For instance, if you get asked on whether your dick is “cut or uncut”.. it’s 100% a dude.

The second category is a scammer. They will typically try to get a video of you jerking off, or a video of you having sex, and then threaten you by saying they’ll show it to your friends & family if you don’t give them money. This is of course plainly bullshit. If you accidentally sent a sexual photo/video to one of these scammers, then don’t worry, they’re not gonna do shit.

.

The first example is clearly a gay guy pretending to be a girl. If you ever get a question like this, then just un-match because no girl will ever say anything like this. The second example is of a popular scam, going around social media. Once I had a client message me freaking out because he sent a sex tape to one of these frauds and they wanted money. I told him to just block cause they’re full of shit and, lo and behold, everything was fine.

Red Flag 5: No Body Pics

This red flag typically indicates that the girl is fat and doesn’t want you to know it. However, there is one big exception. Some girls are simply very new to Tinder and oblivious to the implication of not having a body pic. There are two ways to handle this.

i). The polite way: just ask for her IG and if she doesn’t have any clear full body pics on there (that are relatively recent) then just ask her to send you one. If she objects, she’s probably a fatty.

ii). The Alex way: message her and straight up ask “are you a secret fatty.” I’ve done this over a dozen times and it works quite well. The fatties just get triggered and give you a lecture. However, the hot girls will just laugh about it and then send you pics proving they’re not fat. Example here

   .

In the first photo she looks cute, however, this is just her being sneaky. Take a look at the second photo where we zoom out a little bit and she self admits to being chubby. This is what I call the “I’m a secret fatty” angle. However, hot girls could easily have photos like this too so make sure to ask for body pics before jumping to conclusions.

Conclusion

Don’t let this guide blackpill you though. While online dating apps have their fair share of bots, scammers, and secret fatties, there are also plenty of hot girls, who are very real. You just need to be able to discern the difference. If your gut feeling tells you something is off then look at their instagram. If that feels off, then ask for a selfie or two. Worst case scenario, you can always FaceTime, just to double check. Happy Swiping.
